pinion angle?

I have a 69 ford f100 I'm putting a 351 M in and have a 9" rear end. I'm going to put a straight one piece drive shaft in and I have no idea what the pinion angle should be or how to check it? Help please

Everything that I have read is 3-6 degrees. The trans should be downhill 3-6 degrees and the pinion should be uphill 3-6 degrees. Check the pinion angle and set the new engine and trans to match the pinion. If the pinion is 4 degrees up set the trans at 4 degrees down.
You can get a cheap angle finder at Harbor Freight that will do what you need.
