Sweet, but i know all about that.I need to know what the original pinion angle is because the castor needs to be correct. The pinion has know moved and so has the castor.

It is complex, you need to read part II of the article to find your exact application. I just skimmed the page but I believe I read that the factory was a max. of 1.7 degrees but that may not be best for your driveline.

i DONT THINK ITS COMPLEX BECAUSE ITS THE STANDARD SETTING ALL hIGH BOYS WITH 44 LOW PINIONS HAVE.i
iF YOU PUT THE LITTLE ANGLE FINDER ON THE YOKE OF THE FRONT DIFF ,THATS THE MEASUREMENT I NEED.
tHANKS .

sorry i cant get you a measurement. i sold both of my highboys. i wouldnt worry about caster too much unless it feels squirrely when you drive. 0* does sound about right though. id be more worried about your u-joint angle, which should be between 0-5* or it will bind up and throw your ujoints at worst or at least wear them out faster. when most people do a lift they shim the pinion up to correct ujoint angle and they have too little caster. but with ur lift you will actually have too much

What do you mean i will have too much?Too much at the moment?
Not worried about u joint angle, castor more important and will go with Cv drive shaft and flex joints anyway.

right now you have too much positive caster. if your not worried about your ujoint angles i wouldnt worry about your caster. it wont wear anything out. drive it and see how it feels. think of it like a front wheel on a motorcycle. the top of the forks lean back (from vertical) behind the centerline of the wheel. if you stood them up more it wouldnt drive worth a damn. but if you lean them back more, like a chopper with more rake (which is what you did) it wont hurt anything. i dont ride a chopper so i dont know exactly how it will affect handling but im thinking if anything it will make it slightly more difficult to turn the wheel for corners and be quicker on the return to center. hope this helps.

It should be the exact opposite of your output shaft from the transfer case, if the output is up 1 degree the pinion should be down 1 degree, if zero then zero for both as long as the driveline has an angle to it, thats with a single joint on each end. Angle finders are fairly reasonable, get that right, then check your alignment. If you want it right, thats the way..

I put in a high pinion 60 in mine and added 7 1/2" to the rear shackle to give it a 4" lift. My pinion angle is all off but it drives fine and I am not breaking any u-joints. And if you take a look at my videos you will see that I beat the crap out of this thing in the mud drags. I do plan on getting the right lift springs and doing it right some day, but it sure did work for a poor mans fix.
