Good Question> how much 2 cycle oil needs to be added and is it put in the Fuel. I am already using cetane boost and Lucas for cleaning the injectors. I have heard that Kerosene is the thing to clean injectors. About 2 gallons to a half tank.
Kerosene will improve the Cetane of diesel, 2-stroke oil goes in the fuel, 16oz to the tank. You already adding Lucas and a cetane booster... 2-stroke oil on top of those is just more of the same.
When I had a problematic injector it had poor cold performance within a quarter mile of my house. To the point at the closest cross street I would wait for extra spacing between cars to cross. This was with a newly installed replacement motor, as the original motor never had that issue. The replacement of that injector once found totally corrected the problem. One thing that greatly helped the situation 80% was the use of Archoil 9100 oil modifier.
Mine does this also but not to the degree yours did. What is it exactly about a bad injector that causes this? Bad fuel atomization, to little fuel, to much fuel...
Could glow plugs become covered in carbon causing this as well?

My understanding is that one bad injector in these motors (possibly not all versions) will cause the fcim to reduce fuel across all injectors to reduce the vibration and sort of hide the condition to reduce warranty work that ford is asked to perform. The truck matches all injectors so whatever's one that's sick will be the max performance standard for all 8.

That is called compensation, and to find the faulty cylinder(s) you need Ford IDS (AE doesn't have this? or it no longer works?) to turn it off to make the offending cylinder(s) obvious.
