I thought I would post some pictures of the steps involved. I was stumped on how to remove these. A search does turn up help on how to do this but the thread I found had no pictures so here you go.
Here's a picture of the tool I used and the back of the switches:
Next is where you position the pick, you push the little tab towards the the front of the switch and pull it off.
They should come off no problem. I wasn't sure which way the pick was supposed to go when I did mine and the pick slipped. I buried the tip in the palm of my hand so hopefully you all avoid that! One final shot of the end result.
On these trucks you usually have room also to reach your hand up behind the dash and push the "secret button" on the headlight switch and pull the complete **** and stem out.
When you do that you need to disconnect the battery if it will be out for awhile, since your headlights will be on. And you pretty much have to use your method on the later trucks with the different dash, there isn't enough room to get behind there to hit the button.
