Well the grille is 1961. The engine has got a deep yellow oil pan just visible behind the fixed axle. Would have to be at least a large FE like a 428 as I couldn't see going smaller if you are racing 1/4 miles.

my best was 11.747 @118.5 with a 428 in a 64 SB. 4,000# of steel 400 hp, 425 ft lb torque. Someone more mechanically inclined, and with more money could definitely do better than I ever did with that engine Think of the power adders!!! supers, turbo's nitrous. All I ever did was 105 octane Av gas. Not sure the weight difference with the unibody but its still incredibly fast.

looks like an 1/8 mile track not bad not bad i bet he has 4.10-4.56 gears at least though she was talking pretty good at the start it does indeed sound like an FE they all have that one of a kind sound i know my 390 bored .030 with port and polished heads and intake with 3'' race headers was a 14 second truck with 3.42 gears i always wanted to throw some 4.10s under her butt and 1/4 mile her she had so much heart

The big thing is that he can get it to hook. Not seeing alot of wheel spin or hop that is quite prevalent in running 1/8 or 1/4 miles with a truck. I have a friend of mine with 1990 Ranger with a stroked 351w in it, and it was fast as hell, but getting it to hook was a science in itself.

The weight on my 64 was actually fairly balanced. I set the 428 back as far as possible when I shwedged it in there, but the fuel cell at the rear and me (280#) basically centered everything. I built a weight sled for it which was never used. There's a Ton of grab in those slicks, and he's already set down in the back, but not a ton of lift to the nose either. And yeah it does look like an 8th track, but the video isn't the greatest. I'd have to track down some cards to see what my 8th time were.

Smokin Chokin, I never really had much top end with the 4.10, but ran the roads with a set of 3.23's Got laughed at a lot at first. I'd pull in with BFG's and street gears, with a floor jack, slicks, different diff., tools, and a cooler in the bed. I'd spend 30-40 minutes swapping out gears and tires, set up a Pit, then go play. Change out everything after I was done or out, and drive home. Fastest I ever had the truck was 152. Got caught by the Man (the only way I know the speed) and the fun ended.

yeah i know all about swapping 9''s for joyriding and all around hijinkery but the highest 9" i got my hands on was 3.73 and they would all laugh till i would outrun their new chebbys with an old outdated iron lady right now i have 2.78s in a 66 with a 390 4 speed with a 2bbl for gas mileage it gets 16-18 mpg and she tops out at 115 according to my tach/math/gear ratio calculator but i throw on the 4bbl holley on weekends sometimes and it drops it to 12-14 mpg when i baby it but i let her eat some pavement and i lose my ***** at about 4300 rpm almost 140mph she gets to be a handful but nothing beats the look in someones eye when you pass them when they are on the governor at 100 and then kick in the back barrels and let her walk away i have only been beat top ended twice one was a mustang and the other is a 76 short and narrow with 429 around 500 hp and a 150 shot of nitrous yes i knew i would lose but dam it was a blast to see another for blue kick my as.......
