BullyDog headsup!

I started installing a brand new BullyDog Watchdog into a 1999 F-350 7.3L powerstroke only to find that is the only vehicle they are having problems with software compatibility.

When setting up the monitor it actually shuts the truck off!!!!

Just wanted to give a heads up to those thinking about purchasing a WATCHDOG MONITOR for their 7.3L Powerstroke. It seems as though it should work beautifully on a 6.4 or even 6.0. when i contacted Bullydog they explained they has some engineering position changes and they planned on addressing the problem sometime in the future. They were very helpful and appologetic. Great guys, just wish I coulda used their stuff.

Thanks for the warning. However, you will not find many folks here using Bullydog programmers...DP Tuner, and TS chips like PHP, Beans, BTS, etc. are more common.

About 2 weeks ago I removed the Bully Dog programmer from my wife's truck and listed it on eBay. It sold a few days ago and I shipped it out. I had it all packaged up and in a box on the counter and she asked what it was. I told her it was the programmer that was in her truck and I decided to sell it. She said "Oh...OK."....and went about her business.

She had been driving her truck for two weeks and didn't even realize the calibration was returned to stock. I bet if I were to put a PHP or DP chip in there she would notice.

To the OP....
If you want another option. Take a look at the DashDaq...that thing is pretty cool. DP has a customized version of that with the ability to modify the calibrations which I believe they call "Infinity". It looks like a pretty neat product. A little pricey by comparison to the Watchdog...but probably worth it. Just another option for you to look into...

Tailgate:

Oh I know, I JUST bought a TS after some researching through the forums and am very happy with it, I just wanted a nice monitor cause pillar gauges are a turnoff to me. I went through the trouble of burning through the electronic board dash cluster in my street/strip car to put the tack INSIDE the dash. Looked nearly stock besides the rear tires, I even put the nitrous controller and guage in the glovebox, solenoid was under the intake, and the colormatched cage was milimeters away from interior panels. 8.90 @150 on the gun and i drove it to school(1/4 mile) AND it was a Big Block Ford! It turned into something that isn't so sneaky anymore

From

RUST BUBBLES and sundried paint

To That

making more than double the power now than in that pic of it on the dyno

S**t...I got a bad feeling my 99 f-350 dually is gonna end up sucking my wallet dry..cause being broke and having cool **** is like a disease....

Shake-N-Bake:

I definetly will check them out i appreciate the suggestion. I thought about buying a f-650 dash for mine to intall the gauges in or monitor and hook up my trailor brakes and other switches to it. BUT, idk, thats not too sneaky which is what i do, And what you did to you wife is funny, sounds like something i would do. You COULD suprise her one day with putting a dp or ts or something in her truck and set a timer to see how long is takes to get a call saying my truck is running different,lol....OR.... you could spend the $300 on your truck and say ya didnt

Greg that is just funny, I remember when I first bought the X for my Wife, she hated it, said it was a "dog". I got a old SuperChips programmer for cheap on here from another member that bought a truck and it was on it.
I put it on the X and she loves it. I would catch hell if it was to attempt to take it back to stock now...
