Thanks for the words again guys! Well two different insurance adjusters so far. One said hell get a junk yard door and fender...replace quarter panel, and get two new rims and tires....ha also said the steering leak was due to my power steering cap being loose , I'm sure it has nothing to do with my totally bent drag link.
Second adjuster said its totaled. Doesn't feel safe putting it back on the road. He said my truck is in average condition, due to a cracked dash pad, and a dent on the inside of my tailgate....most ridiculous sentence I've ever herd. Like ever. Said my truck is worth 500$ the way it sits. SO I'm calling my lawyer tomorrow and going for 10k and my truck. I was going along minding my own business, not fair to lose out on my truck. Not after all I've done. Can I go buy a superduty? Of course I can. But I'm not leaving this forum!! The obs guys are a rare dying breed. Not many understand! Thank you all and ill keep you all posted!! There will be one heck of a build thread!
That second guy is crazy Kris! I can see you know this and aren't going to let them screw you out of your truck though. Good luck with all this buddy, I hate you're even having to deal with it.
sounds like the first insurance man was from your company and the second one was from geico
the girl across the street was cut off. the asswipe that hit her was speeding, passed 2 cars over a double yellow line, and then cut rite in front of her.
5 witnesses, and 2 of them were off duty cops.
he got 6 tickets, and lost his license for 5 years because of this accident and tickets alone. the tickets were for reckless endangerment, careless driving, failure to yield the rite of way to oncoming traffic, speeding, passing in a no passing zone on a turn, and disregarding a traffic signal.
geico actually had the ***** to try to say she was 35% at fault because she hit him in the passenger door and rear quarter panel. their reasioning was that by hitting him that far back, she should have been able to avoid the accident.
she left 20 ft of skid marks, and even though she was doing 35 mph, he stopped her in her tracks and pushed her 10 feet backwards and 20 ft sideways.
she said i will see you in court with my lawyer, and 3 days later had a check from geico for $5200 to replace the car, and $3150 to pay the hospital bill..
That is incredibly stupid of them... Hope you can get something out of them Kris. If you go look for similar condition trucks that are for sale, they are all 8-10k.... Insurance adjusters can be a PITA..

You got that right!!!! They will try to compare it to a rusted out, beat up F150 with a worn out 302....
Kris, like I said on Facebook you need to get the insurance company to do a market analysis. What that means is they have to look at similar vehicles (year, model, mileage) that have recently sold or are for sale to see what the market is demanding for a vehicle like yours.
When I totaled whitey my insurance company did a market analysis and all the comps (comparable vehicles) came back with prices that were well over book value. They ended up giving me just shy of $10,000 for her, and that was 2 years ago. Your truck is worth at LEAST $7K on a bad day.
Also, don't let them total it. If you ever decide to sell it the branded title will bite you in the ***. If there's no frame damage and the cab isn't twisted there's no reason it should be totaled.
Ah, okay, thanks. They weren't loading on my computer for whatever reason. All I was getting was the text. I'll have to quote the post and copy/paste each image url into my browser to see them, but I've got work in twenty minutes, so I'll do it later.
