It has been so long since I removed my EGR that I do not remember how I got it from. But it has the blue hose and it developed a leak about 4 years ago. I had to pull the turbo back off to fix it. Good luck.

Ill probably just go with IPR kit, havnt read anything bad about them. Just trying to decide if I need to do the oil cooler as well.
You need to know what the oil temp and coolant temp is in order to make an informed decision about the oil cooler. Some sort of OBD monitor is the first order of business with a 6.0. (Unless you're sitting on the side of the road and need a part )
Yeah, that was actually the next thing I had planned to get.. But now the truck is running like a bag of **** and I have a hunch something's about to blow, and chances are I don't have the money to spend on some gauges so I'm not really sure where to go from here. Guess I could pay 100 bucks for Ford to diagnose it, any ideas?
OUCH!!! on the OEM cooler and EGR delete. I thing I paid $150 for mine. You can get a decent scan tool for under $100 that will tell you some of the problems. Bringing it to the ford house and let them give you a laundry list works too.
150 for both the cooler and egr delete?? I'd like to get an edge insight eventually, but for now I really just need to figure out if the cooler should be replaced or not without spending too much :/
I have an android phone so I went the Torque Pro app and a bluetooth transmitter off the OBDII plug - $18 and more gauges than I know what to do with. I have been monitoring temps and a whole bunch of other stuff and if I try hard enough with the truck empty, I can get it to do 11 to 16 degrees between ECT and EOT. But I'm not worried about empty, I want it to be with the camper on and trailer behind to NOT worry about it.
So I'm replacing a likely perfectly good oil cooler with a new one. Reason? It's because by the time you are in so deep, you might as well change it. I'm also doing a coolant flush with VC-9 which may plug the oil cooler more than whatever it is now. and I'm switching to an OAT coolant (Final Charge) there's just too much info out there that says it's the way to go. But YMMV
It's a slippery slope once you are on it deciding how much bullet-proofing is "enough". Nobody can decide that for you, but you and your circumstances and your wallet....
For now I'd like to just get the EGR delete out of the way, and possibly a new oil cooler if I can figure out whether I need it or not. I also thought about buying the 6.0 upgrade kit off mkm customs, has the updated oil drain tube, blue spring, HPOP stc fitting, degas bottle cap, turbo feed line, and the stand pipe/dummy plug kit for 399 if that's a good idea to do while I'm in there. Still not sure what kind of coolant ill do.. Or even if ill do vc-9 or the restore+.. Just so much to gather and make sure you do the right stuff the first time since ill be pretty much broke after this haha.

I found most package deals weren't a deal for me as much as they were for the vendor. Soooo many of these folks toss in an after market part or parts with some oem stuff that you really don't know what you are getting. I went all OEM, understood what the part was and what a good price was on it and made sure I overlapped as little as possible on the Ford "kits". Keep reading and learning and you'll save bux in the end....

I understand exactly what you're saying. But, I did go through and price all these parts from different vendors individually and the total came out to like 530 bucks or so? This kit comes out to like, just over 400 with shipping. I mean, as far as I can tell it's just all the commonly replaced OEM upgrades in one package, I'll post the link and see what you more experienced guys think.
I figured I'd call the local Ford and get a quote on what their price would be for all these parts. I mean, if I'm going to get in deep and delete the egr cooler wouldn't it make sense to do these upgrades? Or with my truck being a 2005 would it already have these parts from the factory?
ebay the EGR and EGR cooler delete kit. I just did and there some to bid on and buy it now for just over $100. The other kit sounds good. Get all done at once.
The parts I couldn't find elsewhere I went to Tousley Ford for. So let me break down just the stuff I recognize off the list:
Blue Spring Kit: unless your cover is cracked, you don't need it. You can get all you need plus extra parts with the Riffraff blue spring kit (all Ford OEM) it was less than $40 delivered.
STC fitting kit: I got mine in a factory sealed pack on eBay for $29 delivered, but Tousley's price is still less than $40
Degas cap I got on my order from Tousley and it was $5 or 6 bux.
Stand Pipe and Dummy plug kit from Tousley was $102
I'd have to go back and look at your year for the oil feed/drain tubes to the turbo -- mine's an '07 so I don't need 'em. but I doubt they'd be the $200+ difference we're at for the "kit" that is such a deal.
Grr, I wish there was a way to type in stuff you want and it show the lowest price on the web haha.
So I should just scratch off the mkm kit, and order all those same parts from Tousley? How can I tell if I need or don't have the upgraded oil feed and drain tube? Also, my degas bottle cap looks the exact same so I assume it's the upgraded one. Or was the change from the old to new just something in the actual cap and no change in look? Is there a way to tell if mine is bad or should just be replaced?
