I just found this thread doing a search for doing driving lights install and had a quick question.
I got some conflicting info awhile back. I'm installing driving lights and I have upfitter switches. My question is, I can just install the lights and use a switch with the proper amperage without having to add a second relay, correct?
Yes, if such a switch exists. But you're bringing that amount of amperage into the cab with you. Some people are comfortable with that, but some aren't. Personally, I think it's fine.
I thought the upfitter switches already had relays?
They do have relays in the circuit, that's why I asked. Someone mentioned to me that it would be advisable to add a second relay, but I thought that would be over kill. In the upfitter switch circuit are relays for each switch already.
