Question Tire decision problem

First time poster here..

I am thinking of getting new tires bc I don't really like what it came with. I have some Michelin tires on there now. I don't do a lot of off roading but when I do I would like to be able to go where I want to go. I took my truck in a little wet mud this past weekend and was aggravated at the fact that the first thing I did was get stuck and my truck was stuck overnight till someone came and pulled me out. I'm looking for something that is overall rated well. Something that is good on the highway but can handle its own in a little mud. Something that is reliable and has a good tread life on it.

First off, Welcome to FTE.

I don't have any experience with them, but what I can recommend to you is BF Goodrich All-terrain TA/KO's. They are an all-terrain tire. I've heard almost nothing but good things about them, and that they have great road manners and do pretty well in all road conditions. And that they actually do okay in mud, they're definitely no mud tire, but still can hold their own in most light off-road conditions. Pretty much a good overall tire, with good tread life too, from what I've heard.

Some other brands that I would look into are Nitto, Mickey Thompson, Goodyear, Toyo, and maybe a few others.

And if you're looking for a mud tire I would recommend is the Toyo Open Country M/t. I've also heard nothing but good about them. Great road manners, great tread life, pretty good in all road conditions, and great off-road capabilites, except for maybe deep mud, but it doesn't sound like your going to be doing any of that so I wouldn't worry about it.

So those are the two that I can recommend to you. It all really depends on whether you want a mud tire or an all-terrain. Hope this helps.
