First, I know that Ed @ FICMRepair.com is the big dog on the block when it comes to FICM repairs here (for good reason) and I am not trying to stir the pot or cause any controversy. As a matter of fact, I have his intake form printed out sitting on my desk.
However, as I thought about how I would time the removal of my current FICM so that I could minimize downtime I realized there was just no way around losing a few days. I just can't afford to have a day off. Looking around YouTube I was just looking at some FICM removal vidoes when I stumbled across Ron Huxell FICM replacement. He has an eBay store (ronh12) with very positive feedback.
He rebuilds OEM units with what I think he calls 'upgraded' parts (he's got a video floating around as to what exactly this means). It cost me $200 shipped to my house with a $200 refundable deposit provided I ship my rebuildable core back to him in a timely fashion.
Anyways, I installed the rebuilt FICM tonight and whereas my cranking FICM voltage would plummet to 35 V with the failing FICM it stayed at 48 V from KOEO, cranking and KOER. Starts and runs great.
Just thought I'd share a positive experience with another option.

Ed offers an exchange program... call him up, tell him what you have and what you need (Flash strategy or Atlas 40 etc) and he'll have one shipped out and a couple days later swap out the FICMS and send your old one back.
I was only down a couple of hours, when you start to see 35 your down catch it a little sooner , I went with ed because of this site and all of the great feed back , but thanks for letting us know that theres more than one guy out there serviceing FICMS . EDs is reputible so I have to stay with that.

I used this service from Ed , it cost an additional 50 bucks but was well worth it.
