Just bought off Craigslist from two different sellers an Edelbrock 2105 intake manifold brand new in the box for $150, and an Edelbrock Carburator 1406 with the heat adaptor plate and kickdown adaptor, all brand new in their box and packages for $250. All new stuff! This is going to bolt onto a completely stock '72 F250 with 63K original miles. What should I expect after install with out doing anything else to the motor, and also since I will have the iron off the engine, what should I do that is preventative or extra since the intake will be off? Any thoughts?
... if yer thinking of upgrading the cam, this is the time to do it. However, it really needs the exhaust system upgraded with headers and dual exhaust if you want to maximize the carb and intake upgrade.
Also think about restricting the heads' oil galley to increase oil to the mains bearings. The mod (using Holley carb jets) can be looked up online.

Good idea on the timing chain and water pump. Low on $$$ for now but i think I can do that at the same time I do the intake. Cam and exhaust is later, same with HEI

I suggest you save up more $$$ and do the exhaust before or during the carb/intake also. Your engine is a glorified air pump. What goes in has to come out as easily. Giving it more air and fuel has to be balanced with better flow out. If not , you will be disappointed with the results of all the work doing the carb/intake.
