1989 f-150 questions

hello, i have an 89 f-150 4x4 with a 300 engine and manual transmission. i was wondering how do i remove the gauge panel? i took all the mounting screws out that i could find, but it still seems like it's in a bind. also, the inspection cover at the bottom of the transmission. i took out what i thought was all the bolts, but it seems stuck. does the oil pan need to be loosened? thank you for your time

Your trans, is it a granny first gear 4 speed or granny geared 5 speed OD trans?

If so, the "Inspection cover" is a PTO port. You can see things when you take it off, but there is no need to do so if the trans is working properly.

Fresh oil and an look-see at the oil that comes out is about all you need to worry about.
