E4OD Overdrive issue
Have searched and cant find anyone with same issue.
Ok i just got this truck, it had been sitting awhile. The trans was fine before it sat for 6 months. Ok here it goes, while driving with the overdrive on it would go through 1,2,3 ok but when OD should kick in it almosted seemed like is was a downshift but trying to give it gas does nothing. If i hit the buttom to turn the overdrive off it would stop doing that. So Saterday i drive it up and down the street pushing the button on and off thinking maybe it would help work it free. It made a hard shift, after that with overdrive on 1st gear just slips, but if i turn OD off it shifts through 1,2,3 fine. I took out the valve body that has the OD valve in it and found it had 4 springs. A little spring by the plunger, and 3 springs one in side another one inside another one. The smallest one of the three was broken and pieces everwhere, so i cleaned it and but it back together. Ford drawing only shows 2 in that area. Put everthing back together and same issue. Does anyone have anything else i can look at before i do a full rebuild. I am not getting any flashing from the OD light so i have not checked for codes, just seems weird that it has issues only when OD is on.
