I got a new guy at work who has a 2008 Ram 2500 Quad Cab. He just bought the truck and it has a 30 gal extended tank in it that he doesn't like or want. From what I can tell, it's this model

30 Gallon Toolbox/Tank Combo - Trax-II System - Transfer Flow, Inc. - Aftermarket Fuel Tank Systems-

He is trading me my TSC Toolbox for the Transflow. Are these good tanks? The price alone tells me it's something special. Are they hard to plumb? I don't need the extended range at this moment, but that extra mileage would be nice. It's one of those deals you can't just pass on IMO

They are good tanks. Personally, I would sell it so I can fund my under-bed 40-gallon tank project.. But, the end goal is added capacity. Good trade IMO too.

 

how much would a used one be worth then? it's in decent shape. needs to be cleaned out, but otherwise okay

Like Trey mentioned, I'd prefer added under-bed fuel capacity. Can't argue with the deal you got though.

 

In decent shape, 1/3-1/2 of the price of a new one I would think. Good trade for sure.

 

You could easily ask for 2/3 retail. Maybe accept a reasonable offer but 2/3 isn't crazy. Tanks are hard to come by and expensive.
