Electronic Ignition Problem

Update:
To update anyone interested, and anyone with a similar problem: I solved the engine dying when warm/hot by installing a new coil.
I also had a vacuum leak which I found by using the carb cleaner technique. I used an incorrect carb mounting gasket. The coil was new, by the way, so I was a little surprised when the engine ran great with a new MSD coil.
The problem might be the absence of a ballast resistor, so if I cook the MSD coil, then I will try a Petronix flame thrower coil.
The truck is running great right now, so hopefully it stays that way long enough to recoup some investment. Thank you to everyone for their help and suggestions.
