My 2012 F150 has developed an odd issue....it doesn't seem to want to always take off in first gear I've had it happen several times where the truck would take off in a high gear but yesterday was the worst yet....I was towing my boat and the truck attempted to take off in 5th gear....I threw it in neutral and back in drive and it was fine but I don't have any idea what's causing it. Anybody else have this problem with their F150?

Thanks, that should make things a bit easier. I hate to bring my truck in to the dealership but may have to for this fix....hopefully nothing else will get pooched on my truck in the process.

The fix seems pretty straight forward. It calls for them to replace the molded leadframe on the main control and replace the molded assembly. Form those who had the problem, it progresses and can cause very hard downshifts to 1st while at high speeds so you should have it corrected asap.

Not so much....3.5 hrs and my truck is still apart and I'm driving a loaner The tech isn't sure what's going on with it, he installed the part and my truck doesn't shift anymore.....they'll take another crack at it next Monday and see if they can get it back together, I'm a little concerned about what new issues may pop up now.

I had these same issues with my truck and indeed it got a lot worse...dangerous I say! The TSB noted was applied and fixed everything.
