Does your state happen to put it on the title? Ours will list a first registered date and the list price. For example my truck was first registered 03/77 and had a list price of 6076.
I just looked up the same thing this AM. Looking to try and get a stated value for my truck. Looked at one of the antique/classic companies but they said I had to "retire" the truck. That I could only use it for pleasure driving, club functions, shows, etc. I told them it's my truck, I need it to pull a travel trailer, haul supplies from the hardware, etc. I probably have only put 4,000 miles on it in the last 10 years but would like to have a nice policy to cover it.
I visited the NADA web sight. With the 390 and ac the original price
on our 75 F-150 was $4002. Perhaps that can fine tuned. However that
is considered the guide post for insurance.
That may have been the MSRP but depending on condition it is probably worth considerbly more. Did you also see "today's" values listed through NADA based on condition? I'm looking to insure for a stated value of $15,000, my insurance company has no problems with that given the condition of the truck.
Sentry Insurance requested the MSRP of the F-150. They needed a base number.
Without that figure, I am limited to liability coverage only.
Since Sentry has dumped all of their sales staff, I am dumping Sentry.
I do not care to dial a 1-800 number, shuffle through several menus and speak to
a total stranger.
Back to the current value. I paid $3500 for it last week. Add to that $400. for a
dual exhaust with stock mufflers. Add real nice condition, no rust holes and winter storage from now on. A FORD cap ($100) will be installed Saturday.
It's value should gradually climb. The 03 Explorer that will be sold soon is loosing
value every day. The sale price of the Explorer should cover the F-150, the
winter vehicle with cash to spare. Did I mention we also own a 66 T-Bird Town Landau?
Shawn, checked out your project photos....WOW........that is beautiful, should be quite a truck when it's all together. Please post some photos when it's completed.

Thank you very much, I'll get some more pics up soon. It has been a slow process with work and family. But it has really picked up steam since January. Hoping to complete it this year. We just fired the engine this week.
