I actually asked the guy at ford who could/would/should have made this a recall. He said it only affected a very few trucks out of the total population as far as causing a failure, it was not safety related, he designed a fuel pressure tester and made sure every dealership got at least one, he designed a test process and procedure to find the problem, he sent out notices and updates, and that was it. The vast majority of trucks don't have a problem with fuel pressure. For me, I can take that with a very large grain of salt, but I can see his point. What I take extreme issue with is the dealer population, who completely ignored the updates and advice and did not test my fuel pressure, and just replaced injectors until I called time, got the main Ford engineer involved and solved the problem, I just happen, by extreme coincidence, to have a hook-up in engineering at Ford, and I used it to get the right advice. Without that I would not now own a Ford.
