Mounting your Scangauge2

How and where are you mounting your Scangauge2? Right now mine is half stuck over the left air vent. I have used the double stick tape, tried contact cement.
Any suggestions and pictures?

Velcro'd to dash behind turn signal lever and just under instrument cluster I really like this location as it doesn't block anything and the cord is completely hidden.

Forgot to mention it takes a little bit more velcro than provided to put it there.

Ive got a little cubby hole that it fit in perfectly. Made a bracket out of aluminum and velcroed it to that and glued the bracket in the hole. Drilled a hole at the back of the cubby hole and ran the wires through that.

I also mounted mine above the right vent using the supplied velcro. I didn't take the time to route the wire behind the dash. Just stuffed the excess in the ashtray and followed the seam in the dash for the time being. I'll reroute it later.

I like it above the right vent. Easy to see and use while driving, plus it doesn't block anything.

A poster on here makes a custom plastic mount that is really nice, search and you may find it. For me, it may sound a bit hokey, but the glued velcro does not cut it in Arizona in the summer, so I used a long band of 2 sided velcro I found at the hardware store. I wrapped it around the steering column, ending up with the Scangauge mounted on top just in front of the shift indicator, so it does block that...the good news is that it keeps it pretty much in the line of sight.

The only stuff that will hold up in the high heat is Dual Lock fastener from 3M it is pricey but it has a different glue that works well in high heat. You can also try looking up Blendmount.com. They have a mount that fastens your SGII to the rearview mirror.

Here's where I installed mine.

Got it here.

Cost me $48.00 plus shipping. Costly but a nice quality item.

Im the one that makes the mounts, just made 5. I make them when I can at work which isn't often. In my 05 the mount sits right above the vent just to the right of the gearshift. They are painted black and I've been asking 25 total, that's shipping included. I have some pics in another post on how they look plus numerous members on here bought one from me. I have them made to use the rear plug so you have to drill about a 3/8 hole or slightly larger to run the cable but it's a clean install. You can pm me if interested. Thanks.
