Title says it all. I have an 04 6.0 with about 95k miles. I put a boost gauge in last year and just noticed a small amount of oil in the boost line running to the gauge. The boost line is taped into the elbow, NOT a T into the map line.
The crankcase vent is pushing a lot of oil up into the CAC/intake. Could just be overfilled, manual says 18qts total, 15 to refill, but some guys have staved off leaks by only running 14 quarts in the pan. Might want to reroute the CCV if you're seeing a ton of oil in to CAC tubes and it's costing you CAC boots.
Thanks Fellas. I have been in the habit of using 13.5 quarts for refills and that usually gets it pretty close, I sometimes need to add a little more after startup. It could be overfilled but I doubt it. Good to know it isnt indicative of a major problem.
I used to be in the 15qt area Had BellHousing Drip and BedPlate seep
13.5qt and ALL LEAKS ARE GONE DRY as a BONE
However I still have some oil going threw my CAC System what I guess is normal with a Turbo Charger and CCV System I think the Turbo charger when your at High Boost Creates a HIGH Crank Case Vac press
