Boost Numbers

Has anyone with a 38R pulled the red line off and plugged the tube and blanked the actuator to gain more boost?
What actuator are you running?
What boost figures are you seeing?

Have one on the way Brian , but still mechanical and you don't use the red line with that .
Just interested in what others have as far as boost #.

Just out of curiosity, what is the maximum boost pressure you
can "safely" use without doing major internal engine upgrades
like stronger conrods etc?

I realise that you would need to upsize injectors, HPOP, intercooler
etc to make use of more boost.

Just wondering how far you can push the standard motor without
breaking things.

Yeah, unless you can get fuel to support the increased air, you are just increasing your intake temp, and increasing exhaust pressure (i.e. making less power).

I wound my 6.7 back from 35psi to 28 (very light haze from exhaust under boost), but its electronically actuated.

well thats a hard one. your stock turbo or a 38R with stock sticks wont hurt anything. Back pressure is the issue that you need to watch as well as cylinder pressure. the later will be a concern with heavily modded engines.
The block itself can handle up to around 90 psi. If you run consistent 35-40's then updated valve springs are in order. Then it goes on. Head gaskets, fire rings. Our PMR connecting rods are fairly safe around the 400hp mark, but there is no guarantee. To get that u need more than a 38R tho.
