Had a few modern F series (Harley and Saleen) and thought I would like to go vintage.
So found this and its a peach.
Seems it was owned by South West Grain in North Dakota. By the looks of it, it has been treated very well and the bodywork is very very straight. Paintwork has faded heavily in places expect for the bright red shiney stuff under the hood.
There is a small patch of rust about the size of a dime on the bottom corner of each door which may have been due to aged window rubbers.
The wooden stake bed is original and the sun has bleached most of it but the green paint can be seen.
Any help with a bit more info on the truck would be great if anyone knows.
Looking for some trim pieces such as seals and paint codes if anyone can help?
Want to preserve the patina though and drive it....
Will hopefully get some more pictures over the weekend. Just sorting out insurance and they have the truck listed as an F1 series.
Now, I have seen this kind of truck called an F6? can anyone give me the correct model designation?
Also, if I want an agreed value for insurance purposes, I need to get a letter of authenticity from an owners club or from Ford themselves.
Anyone had to do this (bearing in mind I am in the UK) and got any contacts that could help me. I guess all they need is a letter saying that yup this is a 1947 Ford etc.
Right managed to get some decent weather and get the fuel pump and carb rebuilt.
Had a few drives out in her now and she goes well. Surprises a lot of people when I work the dump bed. Most people think it would be unplumbed.
Hi Kev, good looking truck ! It looks to be a similar wheelbase to my '42
134''. I'm thinking about beds now, 9' long I thought would be about right, how long is yours ?
Cheers, Steve.
