FICM Voltage

My 03 has been rough starting and smoking for a few seconds when cold. Switched to synthetic in case I had some stiction going on. Went to check my FICM voltage and had 48 volts w/key on, 14 volts buzz test, 19 volts crank. Obviously bad. My question is am I checking the right screw. Tech folder says right side screw closest to the drivers side fender. Mine was this one. Is this the right screw before I condemn this thing?

What voltage should I have seen on the bottom right terminal? I measured 11.5 volts.

Took my truck in and checked the batteries. They where a little low. Found the alternator was only putting out about 12.9-13.1 volts. Changed it out. I will recheck the FICM voltage as soon as the truck cools off.

How old are the batts? A lot of times it goes hand-in-hand to change out batts if you're alternator goes (or is weak) -- starting batts are not meant to be off 100% charge for long...

It is a cascading problem: Batteries go or are not fully charged - FICM starts to fail - injectors live a shorter life...

Batteries tested okay but they are getting older. After getting them charged and a new alternator I rechecked the FICM and I now have 48 volts KO, 35 volts buzz test and 48 volts short crank with no start.
