So i did the Ficm test I put volt meter negitve on the negitive side if battery and possitive probe on the screw head closest to the driver side fender when i key the engine there is no voltage also when i start the truck and check voltage with engine running there is no voltage. Is this Ficm totaly bad or am i doing something wrong?
I'm a 6.0L guy so one of our experts can tell me to go pound sand if I'm wrong. It's my recollection that the FICM needs to be tricked into thinking it's 30 degrees ambient, then the voltage can be tested. Don't ask me how to trick it however.
I did mine earlier this year when ambient was ~50F and my voltage was dropping down to 32ish with the key on cycle. I pulled it apart and took the board to a electronics shop and they re-soldered it for 10 bucks. It started warming up after that so I guess this fall/winter will be the real test for mine. But the 6.0 forum is probably the best spot for this thread. Helpful guys over there!
