PLEASE HELP!!!!!
I have a 2003 f250 6.0, i was leaving work the other day and i noticed i lost acceleration and the truck just shut off, i put it in N and tried cranking it and would not stay on, pull into lot tried cranking it and threw whit smoke that smelt like diesel and truck sounded like crap, then i look under the hood n stuff and notice i have oil leaking from back of the turbo....ANY ADVICE

Have you checked the oil level? Do you have any gauges that read live data, like scan gauge II or one of the smartphone apps like dashboss for IOS or torque for android? They are absolutely necessary diagnosing these truck's. It could be any number of things, oil from behind the turbo could be a bad ICP sensor.

i will check that this afternoon, the mechanic ive been going to says its ganna cost me 1800 for new turbo and labor so im just going to go pick it up thiks afternoon and pull the turbo out myself and see whats going on

Right I Understand that
Are you shure its Oil I would just about bet the Turbo is Fine
HERE IS THE KICKER
Even if the turbo seal Leaked Oil Into the Exhaust it would NOT cause the truck to run Bad
All it would do if the turbo oil seal leaked is smoke from Burning Oil BUT NO Drivability issue like your haveing
Im thinking an Injector is Leaking or Stuck Plunger leaking Fuel into the System its Getting into the Exhaust mixing with the Soot so it looks Like Oil
There is a Slim chance you have Both a bad Turbo seal and Bad Inject leaking Fuel
You need to do a Injector Bubble Test First thing

According to diognostics all the injectors are fine...... I Dnt know much about this motor all advise helps and I figure the only way ill learn is if I start doing the work myself

The only way I see a Oil Leak at the turbo causing drivability issues is if it leaks fast enough that it cant control the Veins
the VGT uses the Oil Press to Move turbo Veins
