I'm ganna do the work myself but ask questions at the same time
Thats the best way^^
I see a few folks that dont ask anything and Dive in only to Blow Alot of Money replace a bunch of parts and still have the same problem. Some even go about it Backwards LOL change a ton of parts then after that didnt work start asking about Diagnostic steps.
There is Diagnostic steps for everything So it would be well worth your time to ask how to test anything that you might think out of Whack
Also the more info you can give will help the Techs Like Cheezit/Mike/Volony Diagnose your problem and Might even be able to tell you the exact Part thats Failed
Theres also alot of Smart Folks here that have studied and researched the 6.0L that can help you to Guys like Bismic have really studied these trucks in depth and know a Great Deal about them
So if you could get a ScanGaugeII (Theres a Few others that read live data DashBoss/Torque App) to Post up your operating values. I use a ScanGaugeII so do alot on here you can buy at AutoZone and it will have everything you Need. Some the Other Gauge Options will need that wireless OBDII Sender to make it work.
DashBoss has a Cool Display I really Like and gives Lots of info like SGII Just needs the wireless OBDII Adapter
I think more folks would get DashBoss if it came with that Wireless OBDII Connector
SGII has a More Basic display but gives a ton of info and really once you can see all your operating Values thats all you really need to Find a problem or to see one coming
I have the Edge Revolution Programmer it reads codes but it's not throwing anything honestly
Right thats where these Gauges that read Live data come into Play
Dont get the edge Gauge it dont read all the stuff the others I mention do
However I have heard a rumor that edge was going to add some the gauges the other ones Have that Edge Does NOT. IDK where they are at in this Process
And really for 160.00$$ cant go wrong with the ScanGaugeII
My SGII has saved me Hundreds if not Thousands and paid for itself MANY MANY times over. One Circumstance I had a Plugged Oil Cooler so if caught Early enough you change oil cooler flush cooling system and Move On so thats what I did
BUT if not caught in time it can Blow HeadGaskets what ranges 4k-8k to have done So it could have saved me 4K IDK these Guys showeed me How to Check it so thing Didnt Get to the Point of Being Out of Hand!!!
You can also get the AutoEnginuity with Ford Enhanced goes on a laptop its a Great Diagnostic tool for us DIYer around 400.00$$ at RiffRaff
But Honestly if you do have Oil going into exhaust thats not going to trigger a CEL or even be able to see it Looking at sensor values
The Way I see it if you have Oil in the exhaust after the turbo then you have 2 problems
But Honestly if you do have Oil going into exhaust thats not going to trigger a CEL or even be able to see it Looking at sensor values
I might need to take this Back
I suppose if it put enough oil into the exhaust to Plug the Cat or Muffler you might se Higher than Normal EBP {Exhaust Back Pressure} and truck couldnt breath properly
Benny Has some real excellent advise here , does the truck over heat at all when running ,what does the white smoke smell like ( sweet or burnt oil) white mist I would say coolent ,check your dip stick whats it look like, hopefully not milky creamyor even a hint of it, just trying to narrow things down . do you have OEM oil and fuel filter?, last change on both? water seperator drain?
It doesn't stay on that long to get hott, the white smoke smells like raw diesel oil in dipstick is fine normal color and oil and fuel filter are oem.........Water Seperator Drain?
