Well it took exactly two years and 47k miles. NO AIR! Of course its now 80+ degrees here after the snow we had last week. I took the truck to the Tom's Ford and got the bad news from Sandy....$1600 to $1800 to fix. Something about metal throughout the system. I am awaiting the parts list so I can update everyone. Anyone else experience this?
Sorry to hear about your AC going out Andy. I turned mine on yesterday afternoon for the first time this year and the air coming out smelled like old gym socks, I thought my son had let one rip. "...it wasn't me dad!"
Metal throughout system says it all-A/C compressor failure. Which means new lines, receiver/dryer, condenser, perhaps an evaporator (due to the extreme labor required for most evaporators I usually back flush those with solvent-I have not had a repeat failure yet) and a list of small stuff required to put it all together. But no, I can not recall having read about it on our trucks yet.

This happens just about every time I turn my on! I'm going to be hatin' when I turn mine on for the first time in 7+ weeks!

They are going to change the compressor, condenser, dryer cartridge, and expansion valve. They will flush all other components.......fingers crossed
$900.00 in parts, $940.00 in labor.

well that sucks..........
My blower went out last September, still under warranty then.
I just bought the extended 2 weeks ago, just before crossing over 36K.
Sorry to hear of your trouble, but you just confirmed my $1900 outlay.
Just too many expensive components in newer vehicles.
BTW, I asked Sandy for an ESP quote last year, had to chuckle with the price she gave me.
Still having trouble with the A/C!!!
Had it back twice...albeit when it wasn't hot out. It takes forever to get cold air and cycles warm..cold..warm..cold when its above 90 degrees. They claimed they fixed it yesterday. Went to pick it up today late morning....no air! Brought the service advisor out....she could not believe after 5 minutes no cold air. Frustrating! Left it with them till Monday.
Any ideas from the guru's?
