Oil pan question

Oil pan question

I am getting ready to have the oil pan done while my transmission is getting rebuilt. What is the best preventative method to keep the rust at bay. I think I remember seeing someone linex, but I can't remember for sure. Thanks Ben

I think you'd have to re-drill the holes if you used line-x lol!
por-15 seems common.

It almost looks like they rust from the inside, I dunno.

We just finished putting one on my truck this weekend. They dont rust from the from the inside out, the coating peels and then the rust gets in. I took my new one to the local Rhino Linings dealer and said shoot this next time you do a bed. Paid $50 to have it done but rust will not be an issue any more.

Look at my engine pull thread, there are some pictures of the pan on there.

I've seen at least 1 that looked damn near pristine, but there was a tiny spot that started leaking and it was thin as tin foil.
That is what made me think they rot from the inside.
