I bought some Rust Bullet a couple of months ago and decided to wait to do my next oil change and also do some rust spots on my truck and also do the oil pan at the same time .
As others have said about doing the oil pan , the hardest part was trying to sand the oil pan and the get it covered with the Rust Bullet . I was surprised at the amount of rust that was on the pan . It took abit of work but I was able to get 2 coats of Rust Bullet applied . Now I will have to wait to see how it does over the next couple of months with winter and and salt . The pan sure looks nice for now though .
For anybody who is thinking about doing Rust Bullet , Don't get it on your hands or in your hair !!
Ask me how I know .
Now my wife won't let me touch her and she had to cut my hair to get it out !!
haha, been there. I used the silver POR15 on my pan which was badly pitted and rusted. I did 3 coats after following the prep directions and it still looks like the day I did it a year ago. I think this is a must for all 7.3 owners.
btw, I had a job interview the day after I did it, and had to explain my black stained hands, lol. When the directions say wear gloves believe them!
