Hi just joined this forum looking for some suggestions. I have and 05 F350 4X4. I put it into 4 wheel drive high yesterday to make sure every thing was working correctly and it was so I went to 4 wheel low and that worked fine. Problem is it won't come out of 4 wheel low. I didn't try to go back to 2 wheel when I was in 4 high. Any suggestions on what to look for? The truck has the electric switch to engage 4 wheel. Thanks ahead of time for any help.
after you turn the switch back to 2wd you need to reverse for 10-15 ft to fully disengage the front end. Try that and see if your problem is solved. If so, then it isn't a problem, just normal
Thanks. I tried that but still stuck in 4 low. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of and what the dealer can think of so I guess it's going to the shop.
As i remember the right sequnce is that You must engage in 4 high staying, not moving and clutch pressed, when it goes to 4 high only then You can switch it to 2wd, not tried to go from 4 low to 2wd directly and think its wrong

This has nothing to do with it, you can go from 4-low to 2wd directly as long as the conditions are met. The truck has to be going less than 3 MPH in neutral with the brake applied.

If you read your manual, to put into 4 low you stop, put in neutral, turn the **** to 4 low and put your foot on the brake hard until you hear it engage. To get it out, do the reverse; stop, put in neutral, turn the **** to 4 wheel high, hold foot on brake until dis-engages. Once in 4 wheel high, switch to 2 wheel.

Nope, that's not right. This is from the 2008 Super Duty owner's guide:

It says "or", which means you can shift directly from 4-lo to 2WD without any stop in 4-hi. These modules are computer controlled, and they are smarter than you guys are giving them credit for.
