I have seen and had to fix too many disasters over the years putting engine flushes into high milage motors. I do seafoam all my top ends once a year though. 1/2 a can through the intake, the other half in the tank. Love watching that smoke show roll. The neighbors, not so much...
Same here.. I never put anything other than oil in the engine. Don't even use any fancy oils. Just timely oil and filter changes.
Works well for me. There is no need to put it in the crank. I recently did a timing belt job on the 1.6 and the valve cover was off. It's squeeky clean in there. No sludge or any deposits.

I don't like oil additives either. I've never used them and I've never put Seafoam in the oil. Just through the brake booster vacuum line and in the gas tank.

But When it's used via the vacuum line, it still gets in the oil.

Plus, I always change the oil right after using the Seafoam anyway.

I've heard seafoam in the oil isn't good. If u have buildup in crank case and seafoam breaks it loose, if could clog oil passages.

Wait wha?

Vacuum is pulled from the intake on a gasser, but same principle applies to an oil burner, and it does not lead to the crankcase. When you are sucking in the Seafoam, 44k, or whatever it goes in along with the air-fuel mix, through the combustion chamber and out the exhaust. If anything other than a trace amount gets past the rings to the oil via that tract, there are issues that Seafoam just isn't gonna solve...

It's actually a bit more than a trace amount, but yeah, that's what I was referring to.

Then again, when I did it to my L, I knew I had a ton of carbon built up so I used almost 3/4's of the can. After running down the street, it filled my oil separator so I emptied it and did another run down the street and it filled it just over halfway the second time.

Heh heh heh...wanna talk about smoke show?

Honestly, I'm not sure if Seafoam really solves any problems, but for me, I look at it as another maintenance procedure.
