transmission help

Hi this is what I have. 1992 F250 custom 5.0L E4od auto Trans. 2WD.

My problem is that I broke down a while ago. Engine still running but I pulled out into traffic and got 500ft then the truck downshifted on its own got another few feet then after that the truck would not move at all. In none of the gears. D R 2 or 1 no movement. Then when I got it towed back home I strted the truck and put it in drive. The truck wouldn't move then I noticed when I keep the rpms high the truck would creep forward. I proceeded to test that in all the other gear selectors including reverse and got the same result. Well in reverse it slowly creeped in backwards reverse. My friend suggested that the torque converter is burntout. I never noticed it slipping or payed attention really. The only thing I notced was there would be a lot of vibration at certain speeds and rpms. Uncertain what they are. So right now the transmission is dropped and tc is off.

If anyone can give advice to what it is or how I can check things farther I appreciate it. Hope I provided enough info.
