Ok, so I am ready to buy my new-to-me truck. The financing is secured, but requires that the vehicle have under 120k, preferably under 100k. I've been Internet shopping and come across two at this dealership that fit the bill. Does anyone have any information about them? They are located in maricopa county, az and I live in Florida, so I don't want to waste a plane trip....
Also, anyone close thats willing to meet me there and assist in checking the trucks out in exchange for a meal/adult beverage?
got a name for these dealers?
I know a couple that I won't buy from. also get a car fax from them before you fly out. Arizona is known for rust free trucks but there are dealers that import them from the rust belt, under coat them to hide the rust and sell them. a car fax will show where it has been registered.
I am not in Maricopa county anymore but have lived in the valley for many years.
"Got truck" is the dealer name, my mistake adding the "s" in original post. Saw a thread on here doing a search where they got panned, but both complaints came from guys who posted for the first time.....
I realize that you can't make everyone happy, but would like an opinion independant from their "testimonials"....
Ok, nearly 150 views and 2 responses....makes me nervous about them for sure.
Alternatively, can some one tell me a reputable dealer that may a truck that fits the specs. From the finance company? Also, I'm a leary of the 2001 model because of all I'm reading here about the mechanical diode, should I avoid that MY?
I'm grateful for the info. and can't even believe how much I'm learning here, thanks to all!!
I purchased a truck from North Texas Truck Stop in February. I live in Oregon. Although the truck had a couple fairly minor issues, I feel the truck was accurately described to the best of the salesman's ability. They even sent me a check for a portion of the repairs 45 days after I had taken delivery. My sales guy was Nate, ask for him.
2003 Lariat crew FX4 113k miles. I flew from Oregon for it, 19.6k. Ouch.
As far as the 2001 goes that could give you bargaining chips for a lower price. My Trans went out around 115k and it wasnt the diote that failed but because I had the Trans out I had the diote removed anyways for obvious reasons.
Their 03 looks like a nice truck, good price.
The 02 is higher priced and has a K&N, not liked much around here.
Keep looking, the right one will show up. I stopped looking right before visiting family in Alaska, but then I found one up there and drove it 4000 miles back!
