Does anyone get their new trucks rust proofed?
Do you think its worth the extra $$
Should I have the dealer do it or go to Ziabart?
Anyone know how much the dealer charges for rust proofing?
Thanks again ~Gage~
Almost forgot I hear that Ziabart dosnt really protect your trucks body from overspray is this true?
Sorry I don’t know anything about that but on the same subject I am surprised that I saw the guys from the show “Two Guys Garage” promoting the CounterAct Electrostatic Corrosion Control System again. I always thought these things were BS until I saw these guys backing them. Then I did a few googles on the subject and saw that these guys got a lot of flack for promoting these things the first time. Now they are doing it again? Do these things really work? Sorry for kind of high jacking your thread!
El Smitro,
I don't know if they work or not...I'd be interested in finding out though. The theory is there, but not sure if there is proof. Maybe if Stacy on "Trucks" would promote it, I'd buy it. Just kidding...any input here?
gage ,I think it all depends on how long you plan on keeping the vehicle. It is very difficult to totally rust-proof a vehicle with the chemicals you are exposed to in illinois. If you dont keep your vehicles but for 4-6 years then i would save the money. The factory warranty is good for 5 years on rust through and the rust proofing wont net any more on resale.
