That's quite an impressive amount of work in such a short amount if time... The engine looks amazing! I'm running the wicked wheel 2 and with a stock housing I can hit 40 psi!! But what I like the most is the manual waste gate controller I installed... The turbomaster is simply amazing!!! I highly recommend it! Props again on the build I look forward to seeing all the pictures!

After driving this thing, I have to say I am IMPRESSED!! I predict tire wear to increase substantially! There is a HUGE sotp power increase just off idle and the WOT pull just gets harder and harder until well beyond the speed limit. Shifts are smooth and predictable (to me). There is literally no smoke in Street Tune and a slight haze left at WOT in All Out. This turbo lites FAST and easily buries the 35psi boost gauge with absolutely no sign of surge (previously a big problem). My initial impression is this is a viable option for the 238/100's. I might find another van turbo and run the Gen II WW with my Stage 1's??
Hey turns out I do have an account here. Was fun and educational and everything in between. Glad we got it all buttoned up. Cant ask for a more pleasant crew to work with.

Shortly after 'I am NOT painting the valve covers!!!! ':
I was a little nervous painting the turbo like that. It had the new whell on it and I thought for sure it was going to get knocked over and bent. But all went well, I still go back through this thread from the beginning and think what a GREAT time it was!

Now that I've got my new engine cleaned up, I see a few things that concern me... It's an E99, so it needs injector cups and an HPOP - but apparently the 'rebuilder' (40k miles ago) chose not to rebuild the oil cooler and the oil pan, front cover, intake plenums, etc are all sealed with some type of black RTV. The oil cooler and ??? were leaking, so there was oil everywhere. Dunno exactly where it was all coming from...
Sooooo, in addition to cups, swapping my AC codes and installing a T500 - I'm leaning toward resealing the oil pan and maybe the front cover? The truck needs a little love before I can stick an engine back in it. The lining in the diesel tank has failed (again) and needs to be addressed and the VO system is going to get redone with some new parts (after 180k miles).
This is a GTG waiting to happen! The weather is SPECTACULAR here right now - just sayin!!!!!!
