spark plugs wire pattern?
i need a pictured help with spark plugs wire where it goes and on cap n wires.... my book s don't tell muhc so i m a buit lost now i have the firing pattern but i dont know where to have it on the cap or whichones goes where ... help me!! forgot to tell it s a 77' 429 motor,,if thios helps

Normally on a Ford, #1 plug on the cap for a 429/460 is close to the water outlet on the intake manifold. Most distributor caps have a numeral '1' molded into them. Then the plug wires are put going counter-clockwise. That is the next wire will go to the left of number one and so forth till you have all the wires on the cap.
Number one plug (as looking from the front of the engine over the radiator) will be on your left (passenger) side of the engine in front. The cylinders are number 1-2-3-4 on passenger side and 5-6-7-8 on the driver's side.
The thing that might be the problem, someone might have removed the distributor years ago and number 1 is not where it should be.
