Another one coming home

I guess I spend to much time on Ebay, as I won this. Ford : F-350 xlt in Ford | eBay Motors First vehicle I've gotten this way, hopefully it's in not to bad of shape. I've always wanted one of these, it is a little rough, but for the price, I could almost recupe my cost by parting it out. Now just a 3 hr. trip out to pick it up.

It looks a little rough but if it runs at all you can get your money out of it at that price.

Rozet Wy is about 120 mi. west of Rapid City, I live about 80 east of R.C. A little town named after the man who is credited for saving the American bison-- Scotty Philip.

I went and got the old gal yesterday, and she is a little rougher than the pics, though not terrible. As usual there are things I would have done differently. At one time the truck was owned by a welder, and he must have built the flat bed on the truck. It is a heavy SOB, he must have used 1/8 deck plate on the floor. For the fuel doors, he cut openings in the floor, then hinged the pieces back in, not cool if you had a load on and need fuel. Seems a little doggy, but it has had no mods done to it. The syncros must be getting worn in the tranny, as it wants to grind going into 3rd gear. The good news, the guy that sold her just had the pos dual mass replaced with a single and a new clutch.
It had a plow on it at one time, the control, and mount for it is still in the truck, so those will be removed. Fluid changes and some cleaning is the first on the list, then a 3367 and 3" down pipe. The fun begins! All in all I think she was worth the candy!

A little of topic, but---Glen did you pull the train of coal when you were an engineer? When we went ort ther was 1 setting in the yard at Rozet, and when coming home about an hour later there were 2 or 3. Them are some long trains! The ones that run here are made up of mostly grain and bentinite (sp). And on top of that the rail has a something like 10 or 15 mph speed limit!

There is! It's called Ford Trucks Enthusiasts. It doesn't do a darn thing though to help you control it, just helps make it a little more affordable, along with the bonding of like-minded individuals suffering from the same disease!

Yes on the coal trains. We did have some freight trains and grain trains but mostly coal. They will park trains in 'back tracks' when the coal mines are full of trains to wait for a opening. The yard or back tracks are slow speed because of lighter rail and they don't maintain them as much. They are usually a mile and a quarter long but I've been retired now for awhile so I don't know or care what they are doing now.
