Bad synchronizer maybe?

I have begun to notice that my truck (94 f150 4.9 5speed) will not shift from first to second very easily. It ****s from third to second good and from neutral to second good. I can overcome this problem by double clutching but If my research is correct the fact that I have a synchronizer means I should not have to. Does it sound to you all like a synchronizer problem and if so how hard is the fix, thanks.

Sounds like a synchronizer to me. the tranny has to come out and be dismantled. not too bad my brother has done a few and is in fact doing one right now out of one of those trucks. I recommend you be a good mechanic to do it yourself though.
