Cool article, thanks for sharing. I'm gonna turbo my '93 n/a this summer, just trying to decide if I wanna try to find a good complete used kit or just spring for a new banks or hypermax.
When it I bought the truck back in 98, the PO had the old style Banks kit installed when he bought the truck and it easily push 10 psi of boost when I had it on the truck.
I have the Banks kit for sale now since I switch the trans. from a c6 to an e4od and installed a hypermax so I can put on an intercooler later on.
Definitely cool, but some torque numbers would be nice. I have the non-wastegated Sidewinder on mine and really have no complaints. Sure, the wastegate may be nice for a bit more low end, but I'm not out to win races with the thing. Besides, being able to roll coal on demand by just up shifting and burying my foot into it (low enough RPMs to not not spool) is fun. And yes, I AM a 5 yr old, lol.
