Well, since the starter burned up in my truck, I decided to actually change the glow plugs. Eight nice new Berus put a good dent in the budget, but they are better than the Autolites that came out. I tested the old ones on my jump start pack, and it was pretty sad. Two glowed nice and quick, two started glowing after three or four seconds, two were flat dead but two were odd- They would get warm at the tip, but still cool enough to handle.
Has anyone seen a partial failure like this?
Nope, these were a couple of the first ones I tested, others glowed afterwards.
The battery in my meter died so I can't properly test them but they haven't hit the scrap pile yet, so as soon as I get another battery I'll test them.
It was just going straight to rapid cycling so I new at least a few were dead. I have no info on how old they are, but this thing has always started a bit hard.
