IP Hotwire?

Hey all. I recently took a 460 gas out of my 97 F350 and put in my 1992 7.3. The plug that comes out from the firewall on the passenger side is a different style than the one on my engine harness. I've been hot wiring it to the battery so she can run(Dont have to worry about the glow plugs cause i got a push button). Even if I just spliced these two wires together would it still work without hotwiring it to the battery?

What two wires?

All you should have to do is wire the IP FSS to a key on & key start hot.

Yea, Im asking if I could splice the wire from the firewall and the wire that goes to the fuel shutoff. Normally I wouldnt ask but going from a 1992 system to a 1997 is quite a ways

Well, since you're talking about a gasser truck it's not going to have a wire for the fuel shutoff. You are just going to have to find a wire that is hot with the key on and stays hot while cranking and tap into that.
