It is very easy to wire, bat post go's to battery side of solenoid.Iwould run a new wire of 8 gage, to eliminate the splice in the origanal wire. The small plug wire #2 can hook directly to the batt terminal, but the field will always be energized and cause a drain if left sitting over aperiod of time the battery will be dead.So it is best to hook into a key powered wire.Unhook the plug from your regulator and find the wire with your test light,I think it is yellow but my book is out in the shop. wire #1 is for your alt light,it does,nt have to be hooked up for the alt. to work. if your truck has idiot lights you can hook it to the I terminal of your regulator plug.
If you have gauges and want alight post back. The green wire at the regulator plug cannot be used for keyed power to yhe alt. or your truck will not shut off. Hope this helps.
