Now if you haven't noticed Roland really knows what he is talking about with these 4R100. And he has taught me alot along the way. Thanks Roland !
Now as far as t.c goes PI has really proven itself over the years and many builds use them for a reason. They trust them! Now does that mean that the RevMax is not as good...we just don't know. But I checked out their website and they use very good equipment and tools and are good at what they do. So I am sure they can build you a nice one but is it going to come apart and when? Because a t.c. coming apart will destroy a tranny. Right Roland?
Now as far as the trans build itself I feel the most important upgrade is the center support modds. So ask your builder what he is doing to the center support.
Hmm, thats a lot of info about TC's haha. What kind of central supporting mods are you talking about specifically? And, i was thinking about what Roland said, and does the 4 disk coast clutch drum help with power at all or is it simply for deceleration purposes. I never tow heavy, or drive in the mountains for that matter. Im just trying to get a sense of what is the best bang for my buck for what Im using my truck for.
Well here, Ill just pose my base question. I am getting a free rebuild under warranty from my builder. He will completely rebuild it replacing all the broken or worn parts with new stock ones for free. I want to upgrade some of these parts however and have about $1500 to do so (this includes the TC). So I want to find the best combination of parts and a TC for my application that will be under that $1500. I use my truck for a daily driver, and I want it to last. But i also want to take it to the track a couple times to see what she can do. I want a transmission that will hold up to 400-500 hp for many miles.
I'm having a RevMax ( I assume this one 4R100 Stage 4 Torque Converter) put in as we speak. I havent heard any bad things. Going with a custom valve body as well. I said I'd like 2nd gear to lock up and He said something would be deleted and converted from a pulse type to an on/off type lockup ?? I trust his many years experience. We shall see...... I will report back when I get some results.
