New to this site, hoping someone can help us. Just bought a 2005 F150 supercrew 5.4 3v. It drove fine during the test drive, the motor was just a little rough. My husband put a little fuel treatment in, and it smoothed out. We put about 100 miles on it and it started acting up. When you take off from a stop, it gets to about 35 mph and suddenly upshifts, then downshifts back and forth rapidly. Then if you let off the gas, it quits. It drives normal after that. This has happened several times. Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas what is wrong? Or did we buy a lemon? My husband loves this truck, he's hoping it is something simple. Thanks, James & Sue
Are you sure it is shifting rapidly? The Rpms will jump up and down if it was. It almost sounds like you have a misfire. Cancel overdrive and see if it still does it.
I'm not sure where you are, but Midas has surprised me quite a few times lately. Have been in a few times and no problems. Even had the one in Omaha, Nebraska install my exhaust and stack kit. Tell you the truth only reason I went in there is because my wife had to pee and that was the closest place. Ended up with really good service.
