89 f150 stalling problem

Unplugged coil used a volt meter while my friend cranked it over found the wire with voltage. The one on coil end of connector put power to the wire that had voltage had keys removed Started then cut out same way as always

Is there a sensor that would tell computer to cut off spark?

I have the same problem with mine. i was thinking about replacing brain box.

I was told if the computer was bad it would not even start as that controls injectors and ignition spark

ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!!

A failing computer CAN allow the truck to start, run and then die.

Here's a little something to read:A9x ECM's (and same years ECM's) Failures Due to Age

Take some time and remove the PCM and look inside for leaking capacitors/burnt components.

I'll bet that's what you're chasing.

I thought I posted this earlier but I must have hit "preview post" instead.

Just to make sure the ECM on a 89 ford f150 5.0 is an the drivers side behind the kick panel. Is this correct
