the best thing for Ford to do is put in a brass radiator with screw clamps .That would be too easy .Why do you think I quit turning wrenches 18 yrs ago at a Dealership All the new stuff is a joke
So what have we gained You pay 50k for a new truck and have stupid things go wrong and hey the average Joe is lost They don't want you to be able to fix it .they want you to bring it back to the Dealer
I do agree, but comparing old trucks to new trucks is getting to be an apples to oranges comparison.
Could a 70's f150 haul 11,500 lbs?
Did the 1988 f350 diesel have 400 hp?
Same thing as the guys who used to boast about their 1985 sr5 toyota trucks for offroading... "I never snapped any parts like you're f150 did" or similar remarks.... well I guess not, what did the sr5 push? 90 hp ? 120 hp? Toss in a 5.0 v8 ford engine, and I bet the sr5 would crumble to pieces.
It is pretty terrible when you think about it, look how bad new vehicles rust, the sheet metal is like 3 molecules thick, and the EPA ratings are always insanely bloated to make you think that buying a new vehicle is going to save you SOOOO much money on gas, then you get it home and it's the same old crap, plus you bought a plastic piece of **** that will need to be replaced sooner than whatever you probably traded in.
I remember reading that 80% of china imports are in the garbage dump within 8 months, or something similar.
Proof that consumers are easily swindled into buying the hypothetical "polished turd".
Your right on that but you should know In the old days the old Inline 6 cyl did a pretty good job they were slow but they did it.I had 4 old trucks with 300 6cyl and they pulled pretty good not fast but they would pull
The old 5.9 cummins were plenty reliable at 170HP.
Thats where they got a reputation.
I find it totally comical when someone tries to tell you about they're new cummins.
"Got her up to 650 ponies, and it will easily go 1,000,000 miles no problem before a rebuild, and will pull 30,000 lbs of trailer up 13% grades in overdrive no problem. "
What's funny is that's true parkland.
Tune the thing way past specs and "oh it's a cummins."
Now, some Powerstroke and Duramax owners throw out the same garbage too but of the group that thinks that way about engine modifications, Cummins owners seem to stick out.
The rest of us with common sense regardless of what engine we have know better but it's funny stuff to listen too from all three engines.
Just to add to the cummins remark. A couple years ago we went out to Ohio for a truck meet. Mike, our host had a neighbor accross the street with the 6.7. He put a smarty tune on it.
He tried to do some heavy towing like we were doing. Needless to say..he also had to do a rebuild after that.
If mine ever goes out I would buy one from vista pro.
Thanks for the vist pro tip, I will check that out... But is than not basically the same radiator?

I did that redneck fix by pounding the tabs down with a hammer and flathead screw driver. It has definately slowed the leak down a whole lot. It is barely weeping now and may stop, who knows. Just buying some time.

It's comical cuz I say that about my ford
OK, I have done some searching......
Does anyone make an all aluminum radiator for the 6.7?
Or anything better.....
I can't find anything.
There is a guy on thedieselstop that says he is building them but I don't have time to send him my stock rad..... or I would.
I find some of this crap ridiculous. They wont ever fix these crappy radiators till they put metal tanks on them.. oh wait why would they wanta fix a **** poor design. Guuurrrr.
Got a lead from NADP. These guys have a part number for it but not sure when it will be available or any details. Soon as I know something I will post it. Part number 2149. Thanks
