So I'm the son in this situation and I need some help. I have a 1985 Ford f150 with a 300 straight 6. Long story short, the engine is busted so i bought a used one. A 1980 300 straight six with the DSII ignition system. So my question is weather or not him and I would be able to handle the wiring system?
The DS II swap is very easy and all plug and play with the wiring. You will not have to splice anything and all the connectors only work one way so it is impossible to screw it up. If I can do it anyone can. And you get to get rid of everything coming out from the computer so your engine compartment will look much neater. This link shows what you need to get it done. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...on-how-to.html
Just for clarification, so even though it is a completely different engine, it's the same concept as the DSII conversion? And thanks for your encouraging words!
