are tailgate internals interchangeable easily??
Im fitting a 96 gate to my 86 f150. Its all hooked up but im having trouble with the gate fully closing around the strikers i put in. Im still working on it but wondered if i could put the internals from a 86 style tailgate in the 96. Then i could use the looped strikers that came on the truck.

Bump for the evening shift.
Im going to tear my factory 86 gate apart tomorrow and compare the connections to that in the 96.
The biggest thing i like in the 96 other than it bein in good shape is the access panel that runs almost entire width of the gate.
