tailgate help please.
Im fitting a 96 tailgate to my 86 150. I had to swap out my hinges on my 86 for the ones frome the 96. As yall know there are 2 hinges. Im asking if someone can take a pic of both hinges for me. The ones bolted to the body. If i can get pics of both a bullnose and a next generation hinges id be eternally gratefull.
Here is my problem. My new tailgate seems to set lower than the top of my bed. And doesnt line up evenly side to side. Im wondering if i put the hinges upside down ( if thats possible).

1996 tailgate will not fit properly, because it's the wrong tailgate for a 1986.
1980/96 F100/350: There are FOUR different Styleside tailgates: 1980/82 / 1983/86 / 1987/91 / 1992/96.

Yeah i know. But its a oe ford gate, its stronger than a aftermarket unit, it was pretty cheap to get ahold of, and its the first gate i have ran across that will fit truck in about a year. Im trying to make it fit. Ive got it mounted, may have to shim a mount. I was drilling out the slots for the strikers when it got dark on me. Im going to make it work. Im not worried about style or if it matches what it should look like. I just want it to be functional.
